Onsite Safety Solutions – Vending

Onsite Safety Solutions & Vending

Having access to essential PPE and Safety products at a job site helps productivity by ensuring employees are equipped to work safely, every time, every day, 24 hours a day.

Reduced Costs

Experience gathered at many sites has shown that on-site vending reduces consumable safety product spend by 30% or more, through better accountability and control on the distribution of these items. Further cost savings can be achieved through improved inventory management and forecasting and with reduced labour associated with distribution of these flowing supplies. Vending also protects products from dust and damage.

Improved Compliance

With onsite vending you have access to a continuous detailed record of safety product usage. You can know who is using what product and how frequently. HSE managers and other supervisors are able to monitor compliance with PPE policies and ensure that your workforce is compliant with your safety management system.

Case Study

Established in 1975 and located in Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale, Vinpac International provides professional bottling expertise and wine integrated services from wine-making, laboratory and warehouse/despatch to wineries throughout Australia.

“Over the past 12 months we have seen a percentage reduction of 48.3% in PPE of our common items, including gloves, glasses and knives across our site.” Says Andrew Holdback, VINPACK Operations Manager. “The VMI system provides a full PPE report ability on each vending machine down to the usage of a given vended product per employee, and we believe this control has been a major contributor in assisting with usage reduction. The system also provides us with our total spend per machine across the Vinpac site on all vended products on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual basis”

How does it work?

Dedicated Smartcards or key ring e-Tags can be provided to allow staff to access items. A standard machine has 6 shelves, each with 10 coils and each coil can hold a maximum of 20 items and a minimum of 2 (subject to size).

Items that can be displayed include:

  • Safety Vests,
  • Gloves,
  • Safety Eyewear,
  • Hearing Protection,
  • Sunscreens,
  • Site Consumables

Automatic replenishment can be setup so that a product order can be triggered when stock in the machine is at a minimum set level. This order can be sent to your procurement department or direct to RSEA to reduce order lead time.
